Hijacked phones and blurry photos.

You know those iPhone photo dumps that happen every other week? Like suddenly you go, oh crap! I used up all my memory again... guess it's time for a giant purge. And then you go and fill your jump drive to max capacity?

Well, I kind of love those times. I always seem to find a zillion pictures that didn't make the Instagram cut, if you know what I mean, because of the blurriness or the off-centered-ness or the whateverness... but are actually pretty great. Ah, if only I could just post all the pictures on instagram every day. But alas, that would be insta-suicide. So what's a girl to do but post a million blurry phone pics to the blog?? Hash tag: firstworldprobz.

(That may have been the worst paragraph I've ever written. Moving on.)

Here are some of the best from my recent photo purge! (I'll give you a wild guess who stole my phone for the first few. And I kind of love them a lot. I mean, husbands and babies! They get me every time.)

I'm telling you, the blurry ones are where its at. Aren't the best moments of life just kind of like that? Not perfectly centered, not perfectly posed.... just REAL. And probably blurry. Yeah, especially with kids. Definitely blurry.

And those are the best moments in my book.

Camden's first birthday!

It's amazing how fast one year can come and go. I feel like I was just waking up Jordan to say "BABE. This is it. Take me to the hospital!!"... and little Camden Race was born.

And then suddenly? Suddenly my baby is grinning and crawling and eating cheerios off the ground (older brothers have the besssst table scraps!). I mean really though. SLOW DOWN, TIME! You are killing me with this 'growing up' business. Hashtag babies4life!

But seriously. How does a baby go from this...

...to this??
In just a year!!?

It's just amazing. I mean, with the first kid, I feel like things are fairly normal. You mark down every mile stone, remember every step taken, know every detail about their habits....etc. But when the second baby comes along?? Fugettaboutit.

The doctor starts asking me things at his one-year appointment like "So, when did he start eating solid foods?"
and I'm like, "Uhhhh, four months? Oh shoot, maybe that was Boston."
So they're like, "Okay, what about sleeping? When did he start sleeping through the night?"
and I say, "Uhhhh, a couple of months ago? Or, maybe it was a couple of weeks ago?"
So then they start saying things like, "Okaaaayyy, maybe writing it down would be a good idea?"

Because hi. Mom brain. It's a thing, people!! You can't expect me to remember these details when I have more than one baby to keep track of! Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this.

But anyways (wow. That was a tangent!) .We decided to celebrate our little chubster with a few friends, and some cake and ice cream. Because any chance to pound the sugar, you know? Birthdays are the besssst.

(And lookout below for iPhone photos! A bunch of blurry ones, comin' 'atcha quick!)

I made Camden a giant blue cake, because the messier, the better. At first he didn't quite know what to do with it... and by "at first", I mean the first three seconds. Then he dove in with full force and never looked back.

Nakie baby cake party!!
^^FAVORITE EVER.^^
^^Proof that Boston was there, too.^^
Camden, I am so happy you came into our family. You are the happiest, most content little boy, and not to mention you have the freaking cutest dimples on the earth. I love your fuzzy head, your little gap-toothed smile, and your big brown eyes. I love that you have tan lines in your chubby arm rolls, and I love that you follow Boston wherever he goes. You are mellow, and so so cuddly. You are the sweetest baby ever.

You are such a light!

^^We love this kid. Smurf face and all.^^

Happy birthday, little man.
I love you!

Brothers.

I was just going through my iPhone photos from the last couple of months, and I kept stumbling onto the cutest pictures of Boston and Camden together. Playing at the park, hugging each other, getting into trouble and making messes together... you know. Your basic brother-type stuff. And every time I found a new photo of them, I couldn't help but think "Holy crap. I love these children!!"

Yes. Having two kids (...ages two and under) is hard. I don't get to shower every day, my laundry pile grows twice as quick, and the boxes of mac 'n cheese disappear doubly fast at lunchtime. Sometimes I feel like just when I clean up one mess, I turn around and both boys are happily drawing on the couch (WITH PENS). Or rubbing toothpaste into the carpet. Or feeding each other sticks. Or eating entire bags of marshmallows.

Having two kids means having twice the chaos. But you know what the great thing is? Two babies means twice the happiness. Two babies means twice the goodnight kisses, and twice the snuggles. Two babies means that when one boy is sad, the other is there to cheer him up with a fistful of goldfish crackers. Two babies means that I have one to hold in each arm, and that makes my heart kind of explode.

I can't even believe that this is my life.
Seriously, I am the luckiest.

When Syd came to visit.

A few weeks ago my sister Syd came to see us, and we basically had the best time ever. We ate tons of food, watched movies... and vegged with two sick babies. Yeah, that part wasn't so fun. The week she was here was literally the most sick either of them have ever been. But she was a good sport, and we LOVED having her here!

I'm so going to miss her when she goes on her LDS mission to HAWAII. Yeah, I know. I'm already scheming how we are going to go visit her while she's there. Because, duh, Hawaii.

^^The babies were obsessed with her. They constantly attacked her.^^
We went to Keeneland to see a few horse races, and it was a blast... slash the most crowded place on the earth. We inadvertandly went on the busiest day of the season. Ha! It was seriously wall-to-wall people. Let's just say Jord did some expert maneuvering of our double stroller between hoards of mingling singles and beer cups. What a guy!

We also went to Boston's favorite place, Monkey Joes! He seriously would live there if he could. Syd was a good sport and played on the toys with him, and he was in HEAVEN.

^^Cam wasn't so sure about the whole experience. But just look at that face. I MEAN.^^
^^We made some great food. Because guys, food is everything. Pesto pizzas ftw!^^
^^goobers.^^

^^Best aunt.^^

Girl, we love you! You're going to rock it on your mish.
And all of the Elders are probably going to fall in love with you. Because that's what you get for being #babestatus. Yep, just hash tagged in a blog post. What whaaaat?

Anyways, love your guts. Thanks for coming to visit!!
