Monroe's blessing day.

This past Sunday was a special one, because we were able to bless our sweet Monroe!

In our church, babies are given a name and a blessing by a worthy priesthood holder, usually when they are a couple of months old. It's one of my very favorite things! Jordan has blessed each of our babies, and each of their blessings has been unique and special--tailored just to them.

We had planned to have Monroe's blessing at church surrounded by friends and family (that originally had purchased tickets to fly out and be here in person), but we had to change our plans when the Corona Virus rolled around. We got special permission to hold Monroe's blessing in our home, with our family members joining us via Zoom.

It was simple, and it was so, so special.
Monroe's blessing dress has quite a backstory.

I was shopping about six years ago when I saw the dress hanging in a store, and I loved it. It reminded me of my tiered wedding dress (plus it was on sale!), and I knew I just had to buy it for my future daughter. I had two boys at the time, but I figured I'd have a girl at some point...so I bought it.

I didn't know that it would take six more years and two more boys to get me to my girl, and at times I thought I might never actually use it, but she finally came. And the minute I put her in the dress for the first time, I cried.

She was absolutely beautiful, and worth every bit of the wait.

Listening to Jordan give Monroe a blessing (solo in our living room, and without the traditional blessing circle), was so moving to me. Just a tiny girl in a white dress, being held so tenderly by her daddy. I couldn't help the tears!

I felt Heavenly Father's love for her as Jordan promised her blessings of a happy, full life full of light and goodness. It was so simple and special, and it was perfect.

Monroe is so lucky to have Jordan as her daddy.

All of the boys love Monroe so much, but Camden is especially obsessed with her. He has always been so sweet with babies, and he is just over the moon about having a baby sister.

So when all of the other boys had already booked it to go play after taking a family picture, Camden stuck around to hold Monroe and get a photo with her. The sweetest!
^He was beaming, but she was over it. haha^
I love my girl so much.
I still can't believe she's real.
Our sweet, amazing friends (aka our Kentucky family) offered to come and help us with the boys so that Monroe's blessing wouldn't be too chaotic and stressful. They came in masks (boo covid) and brought goodies for the boys...and pretty much saved our bacon.

I don't know what we did to deserve them, but they are literally angels.

We had the best day celebrating the blessing of our Monroe Skye. I think it felt extra sweet at this time, because it brought so much peace in the middle of a storm (aka weird Corona virus circumstances), and I'm so grateful for that. I'll never forget it.
We love you so much, Monroe!
