"I holt you, momma?"

This week was a rough one. I don't really know what made it that way, but a bunch of things all added up to one giant melt down in front of Jord's work, just sitting there blubbering to him about nothing. About tantrums, and messy house-ness, not working out, thousands of diapers, and the stress of moving, and you know, just a bunch of tiny nothings. And he just held my hand and listened.

Man, do I love that guy. Like really really a lot.

But then today was better. It was like the clouds cleared, and out came this beautiful shining sun, and I knew it would be okay again. I was sitting on the ground in my room, just folding clothes, and Boston came and layed his sweet chubby face on my back.

"I holt you, momma?" he asked, which is pretty much his way of saying "Hey mom, I want to help! I want to be big! I want you to tell me good job and smother me with kisses!"

And I realized, this is my life...it's beautiful. Like so incredibly beautiful. This rosy-cheeked little boy with sticky hands and silky blonde hair. And that sweet powdered baby, kicking on the bed. Motherhood is just, well, it's wonderful. It is hard and frustrating and tiring, but oh so beautiful and fulfilling.

So there we sat. Me folding laundry, him unfolding it.

And life was sunny again.

  3. This is very true. I had a similar experience this past week. It's like nothing can go right, and then all of a sudden, something happens and it all becomes bearable again. I guess they don't call life a roller coaster for nothing, eh? Keep up the great work-- you're an example to us all :)
