Harry Potter Party!

When Syd and Ty were here visiting, Syd had the idea to throw an AMAZING Harry Potter party for the boys on New Year's Eve! Jordan has read the boys the first four Harry Potter books, and they are OBSESSED. Sydney shares the HP obsession, so the party just had to happen.

Between Pinterest, target, amazon prime, and a friend with some awesome HP decorations we borrowed, it turned out SO stinking cute!!
We told the boys we were going to plan a New Year's Eve party for them, but the theme was a surprise until the last minute. Then before we sent them out the door for a couple of hours with the men so we could set up, Syd showed them this letter:
And holy cow. They about lost their minds with excitement!!!!
They schemed and schemed about what the party would be like, and they could not WAIT to see it.

We had so much fun decorating and setting up. It turned out so magical.

When they first arrived back at the house, I met them in the garage with their "robes" (that I made out of random goodwill fabric haha), and I drew HP scars on their foreheads.

Then they walked into the house with Harry Potter music playing, and they all said "Wowwwww!" when they saw the decorations. They could not stop smiling.

Syd had each of them have a turn with the Sorting Hat, and she told them their house and gave them their wands. THE CUTEST.

The food!!

Syd was the mastermind behind all of the cute foods. We had Gryffindor grapes, Slytherin snakes (gummy worms), Huffle Puffs (Cheetos), Professor Sprout's Garden (a veggie tray), witches' brooms (pretzels with string cheese), Butterbeer (pinterest for the recipe!), and Harry Potter Pizza (pizza with pepperoni eyes and an olive glasses and "scar").

The kids went nuts for it. It was the cutest!

We had to take some Wizard mug shots with the awesome props that Syd made. The kids were so into it!! haha.
The whole night, the boys could not stop talking about how cool the party was. They kept saying things like,
"I think my wand really works!" or "I look just like the real Harry Potter with my scar!" or "I'm so glad the hat said I'm in Gryffindor and not Slytherin!" haha.

I think they will remember this party for the rest of their lives.

So. Much. Fun.

Thanks for being the most fun, Harry Potter loving, party planning aunt in the world, Syd!!

This party was one for the books.
