Camden is SEVEN!

Camden is seven years old, and I can't believe it!!

He's getting so big and handsome, and just pretty much growing like a weed. (I keep telling him to stop and just stay little forever, but he keeps not listening.) Let's just remember Camden as a cute little dimpled, chubby baby for a minute...because it feels like it was yesterday:

Seriously though, cutest little boy ever. His dimples have melted my heart since day one.

And then somehow I blinked, and he turned into a big handsome SEVEN year old!
We had a quarantine-style birthday for him (just like Holland's), because things are still shut down from the Corona Virus. We had to get creative, but we tried our hardest to make it SUPER special for him anyways.

Knowing how much Camden likes solving puzzles, Jordan stayed up late the night before making an epic puzzle scavenger hunt for Camden to find his present. He also made a cylinder puzzle for him to figure out a secret message.
Best. Dad. Ever.
Camden requested a Spider Man cake, so I gave it a shot!

And it didn't turn out half-bad!! It wasn't perfect by any means, but he loved it, which is what matters.
We organized a birthday parade for Cam just like we did for Holland. I was worried about how it would turn out because it was super cold and windy (especially for May!!), but you know what? We literally have the best friends in the world--and they showed up for our Camden boy. And I was totally emotional about it again.

He even had a couple of special friends come from school, and his darling teacher came, too!
^My friend snapped this photo of the line-up, waiting to come around to our house. The absolute best people in the universe.^

^love these friends so much^
^His buddy Beckham from school!^
^My friend's daughter snapped this of us from her sunroof! haha love it^
His teacher is literally the cutest. Not only did she come to the parade for him, but she made him the most perfect birthday sign I've ever seen in my life...and she also brought him balloons and a gift.

What the actual heck!!? SO KIND. Literally made me cry.
^We love Ms. Bailey!!^
People are seriously the nicest. The parade made Camden feel so, so loved!
Afterwards, we went inside and he looked through the gifts people had given him. He could not stop grinning from ear to ear!!
^some of his gifts! just the best^
^He was so excited to build these pokemon lego dudes^
^Gumball machine maker from Aunt Syd^
^He wanted to show his Pokemon cards to Monroe. Cutest. Ever.^
We let Camden pick anywhere he wanted to go for lunch, and he picked a burger & shake drive-in in a nearby town. I am ALL about the onion rings, so I was definitely onboard with his choice.

He ordered a burger and a giant chocolate banana shake, and was a happy camper as we all ate together in the car.
^Don't judge the garbage on the floor. We have a lot of kids. haha^
After lunch, we came home and Cam got to Facetime all of his grandparents so they could wish him a happy birthday! He loves his grandparents so much.

^Facetiming grandma and grandpa Mac and opening their gift!^
Then we surprised him and told him we had a "special guest" that was going to Facetime him. With some sneaky help from my siblings, we arranged for Garet Allen from Studio C to call Cam, and he was over the moon about it!!

Studio C is his favorite show to watch, and so he was totally starstruck. It made his day!!
^so giddy to be talking to him^
Garet was so nice to talk with him, and when he hung up, Camden pretended to faint and said, "That. Was. AWESOME." haha!

Then it was time for Camden's special gift--the scavenger hunt from Dad! He had to find puzzle pieces hidden around the house with clues written on the back of each one, and when he put the puzzle together it lead to his present from us!
^solved it!^
The puzzle lead him to something he's been asking for since Christmas:

A new hoverboad!!
^This was his reaction. He was freaking out!!^
He spent the rest of the night zipping around on that hover board, just loving every second of it (and he's been on it every minute of every day since!). He loves it so much.

Camden requested pizza for his birthday dinner, and it was the perfect way to end the day!
As he was falling into bed that night, he said, "This was the best day of my life."

So for a quarantine birthday, I think we did pretty okay.
Camden,

We love you so much. You are kind-hearted, silly, crazy, smart, creative, sneaky, and wild. You are one of a kind, and our family would be the most boring thing without you. You always keep me and dad on our toes with your crazy antics! haha. (But we love it.)

I was smitten with you from the minute you were born, and you'll have my heart for the rest of forever.

Love you, little bug!

-Mom
