FLORIDA 2018 {Thanksgiving Day!}

Thanksgiving!!

A few years ago, we started the tradition of going to the beach for Thanksgiving. And my gosh-- it has been the BEST tradition ever! It is seriously so fun. Now every time Thanksgiving is getting close, the boys say "Ooohh! It's almost time to go to the beach!" haha.

I'm so glad they love it, and I hope they always cherish these memories we make together.

On the morning of Thanksgiving, we woke up and headed straight down to the beach! It was chilly, but the kids loved exploring, finding shells, and finding all sorts of washed up fish. It was a gorgeous morning to be out by the sea.
Camden took this photos of us on a weird setting...but I still love it. This guy is everything.^
^all about the powdered sugar sand!!^

We started to get chilly, so we went inside to the condo's arcade room to let the kids play for a bit! They thought the arcade was the coolest. They honestly could have just stayed and "played" the games without putting any money into the machines...because it made no difference to them. Haha!

Childhood, man. It's the best.
Then we were off to breakfast!

Last year we started a tradition of having a big pancake breakfast on Thanksgiving, and it's the thing that Camden talked about the most this year. On our way down to Florida, he kept saying, "Mom, I can't wait to have giant pancakes on Thanksgiving morning!!" It wasn't the beach or the pool...it was the pancakes that he was most looking forward to. Haha!

So we made it happen!
^Love that Brights got in on this selfie action!^
^Cute brothers^
^I love pancakes!^
Then we went back to the condo to relax for a bit and watch the Macy's Parade. The boys acted like they didn't care about the parade at first...but pretty soon, they were totally enthralled by it. Haha! They secretly loved it.

Then we got cleaned up, and drove over to Destin to get some food!
^I love all of the cute houses along the beach^
For Thanksgiving dinner, we went to the same place that we've gone all three years of our Florida trip... which is the fancy establishment called Uncle Buck's Fishbowl and Grill. Hahahaha! But seriously.

Here's the story:

The first year we found it on a whim as one of the few places that was open on Thanksgiving for dinner. We just went with it and had fish tacos & burgers, and then went bowling there, too. The kids had so much fun, that they've requested to go back every time since! So ghetto, but so awesome.

(But this year was probably the last time. The food has really gone downhill. Haha)
^My little fishies!^

After we ate, we walked around the cute little shops that were all decorated for Christmas.

The boys flipped out over the huge tree. Boston was like, "WHOA. That's the ginormoust tree I've ever seen!!" haha
^I love you, Jord.^

Then we hopped in the car to catch the sunset at the beach!!

The perfect way to end any Thanksgiving day, in my book.

What a great Thanksgiving Day!!

I hope this tradition continues for a long, long time.
