Fall Break!

At the beginning of October, the boys had a week long fall break from school. Fall break always lands right in the middle of Jordan's busiest time at work, so we usually stick close to home and make our own fun adventures!

We always hit up a pumpkin patch...or two, or three...which are always so much fun. (Click here or here to see some pumpkin patch adventures this year.) We also do a lot of picnics, park days, and endless hours at the splash pad--since Kentucky usually hasn't figured out its supposed to be fallish weather during fall break. Haha! I'm not complaining, though. I'll always warm weather over cold.

I rounded up some photos from our adventures during the break, and it's so fun to look through them and see all of the things we did here while the boys were out of school. They are pretty fun to hang out with.
^This photo was actually taken and posted by the local news station here in Elizabethtown! So fun.^
We started off the week by hitting up one of our favorite parks in Louisville for a picnic and some playtime. The kids love this park because there's a little creek running through it, and there's plenty of stuff to explore!

I love it because it's right by Chick fil a. Haha. No shame!
^Chick fil a picnic!^
^OBSESSED^
Another day during the break, the boys woke up and were determined to get the entire house decorated for Halloween. So that's just what we did! We dug out the costume box, hung up spooky signs, set out pumpkins, and got into the Halloween spirit.

The kids threw on some random masks and hats from the costume box, and they were cracking up!!
^goobers^
Later that day, I busted out the water beads! The kids LOVE those things, and they're perfect for killing an hour or two when you can't leave the house (aka Brighton's nap time).
^Three fuzzy heads, all in a row!^
Then we headed to their favorite place--the splash pad!! I was unprepared and didn't have swimming suits or towels with me when we stopped to play there, but that didn't matter to the boys.

They ran through in their clothes and got SOAKED....and loved every minute of it!
^I love him^
^Always in it for the snacks^
^Perfect Fall/Summer day. haha^
So much fun.
Another day, we went to a little fire safety fair that was put on by home depot! The kids played games, won prizes, and ate SO MUCH cotton candy.

Basically it was their ideal day. Haha! They didn't even seem to phased by the sweltering heat, either. Jordan and I got free sodas there, too, so it was a win win!
^This boy would live solely off of cotton candy if he could.^
^Boston was like "Mom! A famous sandwich guy! Take our picture by him."^
^Probably asking for more cotton candy^
^I mean, come on. Please tell me this photo is not the cutest thing in your life.^
We finished off our awesome Fall break with an incredible General Conference weekend. We ate pumpkin pancakes, hung out in our pj's, and spent some time together listening to some amazing talks by our Prophet (President Nelson) and the apostles.

It was a much needed spiritual boost--and such a great way to end the week!!!
^Heart. Melted.^
What a fun break.

I loved spending extra time with my kiddos!
(...but I was also happy to send them back to school the next week.)

Haha!

I'll post photos of our Halloween festivities shortly. Because holy cow, we had fun!!
